We all have those days when we feel unmotivated. It could be due to feeling emotionally low or maybe we are faced with a mountain of tasks that feel overwhelming. Before you know it procrastination has set in and you feel bad about wasting your day. Here are some things I like to do to keep me motivated and inspired to do my best work:
Do something you enjoy first thing in the morning.
Whether its enjoying my favorite tea, taking a hot shower with my favorite oils or having some delicious coconut bread. Starting my day off with something I love puts me in a positive headspace which is proven to increase productivity.
Focus on one thing at a time.
Doing too many things at once can be overwhelming. It’s better to do one amazing thing than 10 mediocre things. I like to concentrate on doing one thing at a time, that way it doesn’t feel daunting and I can focus on doing my best.
Play music for the mood you want to be in.
When there’s something I really don’t feel motivated to do, playing some energizing music helps me get through the task at hand. Here are my 5 favorite songs to stay motivated.
Do the difficult stuff first.
Start with the most challenging task and once this is done the others will flow with more ease.
Take mini mental breaks.
I like to focus on my work for an hour or less and then take a little break where I can go for a walk outside or have a little snack or maybe watch a funny youtube clip. This gives me a mental break and allows my mind to reset and then come back to my work with refreshed focus.
Listen to inspirational audiobooks.
I absolutely love listening to audiobooks whilst doing things like organizing, cleaning, de-cluttering. It makes the task go by quicker because it becomes more enjoyable.
