Stress reducing yoga poses:
That anyone can do!
My initial motivation for practicing yoga was the physical benefits of a stronger and leaner body but in the last few years I have really discovered the amazing effects that yoga has on the mind. I had always known that it was a discipline for the overall wellbeing of the mind, body and soul but to actually discover and feel that for myself has been of great benefit to my health. I sometimes suffer from symptoms of an autoimmune disease which can cause me to have anxiety, so I use my practice as a tool to calm my mind and relive my body especially in times when life gets hectic. Here are my favorite poses that anyone can do to relieve stress:
Supported fish pose: Gentle and restorative back bend
Tree pose: Self-confidence and esteem
Supported Triangle: Reduces anxiety, stress and back pain.
Child’s pose: Calms the mind and body
Cat cow pose: Deeply relaxing, this is a two part pose. Try arching and rounding the back 10 times in a row while focusing on deep inhaling and exhaling. This is nice to do before bedtime.
